Optional Pre-Journey

• A week before the journey, either casually or by plumbing the depths, makek a list of all the questions you have for your guides. Some of you have specific guides you want to connect with (ancestors, religious figures, superterrestrial intelligence, etc.) and some are just open to general guidance. Put aside WHO or WHAT you will contact and just focus on YOUR heart and the questions that are alive there. Casual journeyers will choose a question that is alive in them right before we start journeying.

• In the days leading up to the journey, your spiritual guidance or energy pathways will begin to shift. You may feel signs, nudges, or messages in your waking or dreaming lives. You may have unusual emotional or physical experiences or find that your sleep or appetite shifts. This is totally normal and you can trust it.

• Also in the days before the journey, get as much non-screen and non-planned time as you can. Spending time that is unscripted and without a screen, especially in nature and/or in quiet, is a great pre-paving support. Extra rest, meditation, or authentic movement are also great supports. If you'd like to create an even more open field, you can also decrease or abstain from inflammatory conversations (arguments / intellectual debates / problem solving / brainstorming), inflammatory substances (alcohol, sugar, red meat, caffeine, dairy, etc.), and inflammatory entertainment / information / news. Drinking lots of spring water is recommended.

• Set up your life logistics to support you having the whole evening on Saturday to support yourself (or even the whole weekend if this feels like an opportunity for you). You will likely want down time or unscripted time the morning after as well, if you've brought a lot of intention and ritual into the space. (This doesn't apply to casual journeyers).

• If you are partnering with micro doses of psychedelic plants or fungi, please touch base with me. I will not be facilitating those partnerships but need to know the energies of what will be in your field. Absolutely no other psychedelics or drugs may be brought into the space (MDMA, ketamine, etc.), including both in-person and distance journeying. Thank you for supporting the integrity of our collective field.

Distance Pre-Journey

• 20-60 minutes before the journey, revisit your questions (or if you don't have questions for your guides yet, just allow one to bubble up), taking time to feel into the body, especially in the heart space, for what is present, emerging, or moving. You might lay down in the grass or on the floor or sit on your meditation cushion or in a comfortable chair. Generally, I don't recommend lying in bed or on a couch, but you do you.

Distance Journey

• If you want extra structure, set a timer for 30-60 minutes. Or your journey can be open-ended, especially if you already have a meditation or journeying practice and deeply know what “complete” feels like when it happens.

• It is okay to just come into the journey without a question for general guidance and support, but I usually find it more satisfying and fruitful if there is a question that matters deeply to you or feels alive in the moment.

• Allow one question to be held in your heart. Just one. It can be a big question that encapsulates many small questions if you like. Open-ended questions are easier than yes/no questions. Allow the question to fully form or rest in your heartspace, as small or as big as that feels. If you cannot access your body, choose an image or symbol for your question to softly hold in your heart and mind.

• Once you have a clear languaging of your question along with the feeling or image, choose to either actively connect with our group field or to be carried and supported by our group field. We have more than enough people in our group whose energy can carry, cradle, and support you, so if you're on the fence, elect to just be held.

• Open, very softly and broadly, gently welcoming your specific guide(s) or general guidance. If you have protocols you like to use in your practice already, feel free to weave those in. But the default is simply to open and relax, coming back to your question, the feelings in the body, and soft, open awareness. Most importantly, TRUST that what you are feeling, observing, or being invited into is ENOUGH and exactly as it should be in this moment. If invitations come for you to imagine, then imagine. If invitations or inclinations arrive for you to hum, move, lay down, sway, sing, breathe in a different way, or come into contact with your body, follow them. Most importantly, follow what feels GOOD. And you can always just come back to openness and the feeling in your heart.

• Once you are complete, rest, eat, journal, dance, or whatever your body is telling you feels good. I highly recommend not talking to anyone the rest of the night and keeping your phone off ‘til morning. Do you really want to interrupt that lovely liminal space? I think not. LET OTHERS WAIT FOR YOU. This gift and this time is yours and yours alone, supported energetically by what emerged in our collective field.

Post-Journey Self-Care

• I recommend containing what you received / experienced as a default and then consciously choosing what you share and with whom. Sharing with others colors what you experienced and adds context, so be judicious. If you do want to share and you're a Disco member, you can upload a voice note, images, or text to our Slack channel.

• Energy patterns and stories have their own timing of when they evolve and release. So, too, messages from guides sometimes feel impactful right away and sometimes work like a “time-release” pill. Continue bringing compassion to yourself and surrender to your process, trusting only the guidance that FELT GOOD in your heart. Not corrective. Not “missions” or assignments. ONLY re-member what felt supportive of your joy, love, liberation, grace, ease, and happiness. Above all, listen to and honor your body and your own body wisdom, not your agenda. What you feel deserves witnessing.

• Refrain from alcohol and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours after your session. Do not schedule energy work (reiki, acupuncture, etc.) for at least 2-3 days following our journey. Allow this time for integration, noticing what is shifting.

• If you have brought a lot of ritual and intention to your journey, you might be tired and require extra rest, feel a little sore physically, spend extra time in the bathroom, have dreams that are out of the ordinary, or need to eat more or less than usual, especially healthy proteins or cacao products. (Casual journeyers, it is super unlikely you will experience any of these.) All of these are completely normal as old energies are going off to the “recycling center” and new energies are moving through.

• Your body may feel light or empty. You may also feel lighter in spirit or more connected to spiritual guidance or nature. Take note, express gratitude, and come into dialogue in ways that feel natural to you. This is not a job. It's a gift.

• Hydration, rest, movement, baths, playing, being in nature, and making art are all helpful. Do anything that brings you joy in a simple way. Allow extra time to rest and just be.

• After a journey, most people experience greater ease, balance, equanimity, and clarity. Rarely, but sometimes, uncomfortable emotions come forth because your body is releasing old patterns. If so, follow the embodied A.F.T.E.R. model: acknowledge them, feel them, trust their timing, express them, and release them. You don't have to make them mean anything. If the story coming up around the emotion feels old, it is old. If it’s like a record you’ve heard many times before, don’t engage in the old stories and scripts. Just flow through the A.F.T.E.R. sequence in the body. This could mean you want to cry, roar, wiggle, scream, sing, dance, shake, or just make rando sounds. After each expression, allow yourself to feel the neutral, non-dramatic spaces in the body. Take deep, slow breaths, allowing yourself to come into plateau or landing. Repeat if necessary. Then close by intentionally shifting back to the guidance you received from the journey that FELT GOOD or to your spiritual intention, soul compass, or vision for the future.

Extra (If you reaaaaaally want to create a new reality.)

In your daily life, as much as possible, very gently redirect your focus to your felt sense and vision of what you are creating that’s suported by the guidance you received. Do not discuss the old stories (the ones you want to release) with others. Your mind has been trained to follow certain patterns of thinking. Old patterns recreate old limitations, so you want to orient to NEW patterns. Your mind will offer up opportunities to dive into old stories (including gossip and bonding over shared struggle), but let yourself be a “soft pass” and RE-MEMBER the body, noticing where NEUTRAL spaces can be found. Go slowly, be gentle with yourself, keep a sense of humor, and keep softly shifting focus back to where you are GOING. Be vigilant in your practice of ALLOWING new experiences to come online, not working hard to make anything happen. Focus your spoken words on what you want, NOT on what you don’t want.

Love, gratitude, and compassion raise your vibrational frequency and provide positive energy fuel for your body, mind and emotions. When this isn’t possible, anger, frustration, and determination can move qi (energy) to help you raise your vibration, especially when using the A.F.T.E.R. flow model.

When old stories surface, RESPECT what is felt and move through release. Know that seeing shadow, witnessing it and bringing it into the light, is valuable only insofar as it is IN SERVICE to your vision. If you’re not able to connect the heart with the guidance, vision, or new story you hold, then re-orient as best you can to the neutral, spacious, or non-dramatic areas in the body while being the compassionate witness. Connecting with the earth, with your feet, and with the open space around you can support you in shifting back to neutral. Then simply allow focus to gently redirect once more, coming to, through, and from the heartspace. The harder you try, the harder this is, so Do. Not. Push. Just allow.

If you would like support in your practice or evolution during the weeks following the journey, you can book a session by emailing or texting me.

Good luck, and keep practicing GENTLY! I wish you ease, ease, and more ease.
